College of Education, University of Al-Mustansiriyah organized an online workshop on cybercrime and its negative effects on the national economy via Internet Communication Technology. The online workshop reviewed the concept of cybercrime, its negative effects on limiting economic development, addressing the issue of information security and the correct ways to deal with the Internet and social media to ensure that there is no extortion. The online workshop demonstrated various types of electronic crimes and their various means, which include illegal entry to mobile phones and personal computers, hacking of email and bank card information, penetration of information systems, spreading false news and reviewing the reasons that lead to be victim to these crimes.
