His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi announced the results of the mutual admissions process for high school graduates to universities in the federal government and universities in the Kurdistan Region for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that an agreement was reached between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region on May 5, 2025, allocating 100 university places from each side in medical, engineering, humanities, and technical fields. 

His Excellency highlighted that the admissions process resulted in the acceptance of 105 students to federal universities and more than 260 students to universities in the Kurdistan Region.

Dr. Al-Aboudi added that the outcomes of the agreement between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region will significantly boost academic interaction between Iraqi universities and provide a suitable environment for students accepted into all university institutions across the country.

His Excellency directed the commencement of registration procedures and the adoption of the admissions results published on the website of the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up (https://dirasat.mohesr.gov.iq).
