The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research continues evaluating projects participating in the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship (NURAI 2026).

Higher Education reviewed that the championship, In which held under the supervision of the Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd, saw the selection of 87 teams to qualify for the online interview stage, as well as these teams represent the best teams across the six championship tracks, with the aim of selecting the top five projects in each track and this will result in a total of 30 projects advancing to the final stage.

The Ministry highlighted that the next phase involves conducting online interviews with the qualifying teams before expert judging panels and the panels will discuss the projects, assess their scientific, technical, and applied aspects, and evaluate their level of innovation and implementation capabilities besides this process will allow for the selection of the most outstanding projects for the final stages of the championship.

For their part, the Higher Ministerial Committee commended the scientific and organizational efforts exerted by the participating universities and student teams, as well as the efforts of the judging panels, coordinators, and supervisors, which contributed to the success of the championship stages and the organization of its competitions.
