During a participation in Computing Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026, held in Shenzhen, China, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that Iraq achieved third score globally in the competition.

Higher Education said that Iraq was represented in this global competition by a national team of three students from distinguished Iraqi universities.
The Ministry highlighted that more than 220,000 students and academics from over 2,000 educational institutions in more than 100 countries participated in the tenth edition of the competition, marking the largest participation in the competition's history, a total of 177 teams from 49 countries qualified for the global finals hosted by China.
Higher Education demonstrated Huawei ICT Competition is one of the most prominent global initiatives aimed at developing technical talent and preparing future leaders by providing an international platform for competition, exchanging experiences, and enhancing practical skills in the fields of computing, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
It is worth mentioning that 13 Huawei Academy centers have been opened since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Huawei Technologies in 2024.
It is significant to mention that the participation was of top university students from around the world.
