The Directorate of Media and Government Communication at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized the first forum on university media and government communication.

Higher Education reviewed that the the forum, in which held entitled "University Media: Responsibility and Identity,"  included several sessions that reviewed the role of university media in consolidating institutional identity and mechanisms for developing government communication within universities, as well as reviewing the most prominent challenges facing university media and proposed solutions and suggestions to improve its performance and enhance its efficiency in keeping pace with the rapid changes in the institutional communication environment.

For her part, Director of the Directorate of Media and Government Communication, Dr. Nada Al-Abadi emphasized that university media is a cornerstone in building a positive public image for Higher Education institutions, this necessitates developing the media work system, unifying institutional discourse, and adopting modern professional practices, such measures will solidify the presence of Iraqi universities in both the academic and media spheres, reflecting their scientific and research achievements according to rigorous professional standards.

Dr. Nada Al-Abadi added that university media is a fundamental pillar in building a positive public image for Higher Education institutions, this requires developing the media work system, unifying institutional discourse, and adopting modern professional practices, these measures will support the presence of Iraqi universities in both the academic and media spheres and highlight their scientific and research achievements according to rigorous professional standards.

For his part, the President of the Middle Technical University, Prof. Dr. Wadah Amer Hatem Al-Tamimi, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of developing academic media as a strategic partner in supporting the scientific and intellectual mission of universities, highlighting their research and academic achievements, and strengthening sustainable communication channels with the community. 

Professor Dr. Wadah Amer Hatem Al-Tamimi reviewed that enhancing public trust in Higher Education institutions and reinforcing their institutional presence. 

The forum included speeches addressing the importance of university media in supporting Higher Education, as well as the screening of an introductory film showcasing the role of academic media in documenting university activities, enhancing their institutional presence, and highlighting their scientific and research achievements at both the local and international levels, as well as a video presentation highlighting the significant strides and remarkable successes achieved by the Middle Technical University in the employment sector and development partnerships, the forum showcased its qualified academic graduates who have become a key resource for meeting the demands of the national labor market according to the latest contemporary professional standards.

The forum also featured an extensive and insightful dialogue session to exchange perspectives and discuss practical ideas and proposals put forward by media and government communication directors from various universities, this resulted in the formulation of scientific and practical solutions to enhance the mechanisms of the academic media system and strengthen integration and coordination among educational institutions, ultimately leading to a professional media discourse that reflects the identity and academic mission of Iraqi universities.

It is worth to be mentioning that the forum hosted by the Middle Technical University, with the participation of Directors of media and government communication from public universities.
