In Cooperation with Egypt's Delta University, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Holds International Scientific Conference on Sustainable Development & Climate Change

Musayyib Technical College at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its international scientific conference on sustainable development and climate change in cooperation with Delta University of Science and Technology. 

Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University reviewed that over two days, the conference addressed several key themes, including the environment and climate change, the role of educational institutions in raising environmental awareness, engineering and technological solutions, sustainable agricultural development, the green economy, strategic planning, and legal aspects related to environmental legislation, climate justice, legal responsibility, environmental governance, and environmental dispute resolution.

For his part, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi emphasized the university's commitment to expand cooperation with Delta University in specialized scientific and research fields and implementing joint projects related to sustainable development.

For his part, President of Delta University, Dr. Yahya Abdel-Azim Al-Mashad said that the conference serves as a scientific platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening research partnerships, thereby supporting innovation and contributing to achieve sustainable development goals and address environmental and climate challenges. 

Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University highlighted that the conference included the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and Delta University for Science and Technology to enhance scientific, cultural, research, and educational cooperation and launch joint educational and training programs to support the quality of higher education and scientific research and facilitate the exchange of expertise.

Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University demonstrated that the conference recommended strengthening the development of technical and scientific capacities capable of addressing the challenges of climate change and achieving genuine sustainable development in Iraq and Egypt, as well as transitioning to clean and renewable energy as alternatives to reduce emissions that cause climate change, managing water resources, and promoting water recycling, treatment, and reuse technologies in agriculture and industry, besides emphasizing the importance of protecting biodiversity and the natural environment, reducing industrial and agricultural pollution, integrating sustainability concepts into university curricula across various engineering and technical disciplines, and stimulating joint applied scientific research between the two universities to serve the issues of sustainable development and climate.

It is significant to mention that the conference was attended by faculty members, researchers, and experts from Iraq and Egypt.
