Under the patronage of the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Moussawi, and supervised by the Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhah, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research continued to organize the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship (NURAI 2026), judging committees have officially begun their work to evaluate the participating projects from public and private universities across Iraq.

Higher Education witnessed broad participation from Iraqi universities in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence, projects are competing within six specialized tracks: medical, industrial, agricultural, environmental, education, and community service, this reflects the diversity of innovations and technological solutions presented by university students, the judging phase will conclude with the selection of eighteen promising projects, three from each track to qualify for the final ceremony.

The Ministry highlighted that this championship is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's efforts to support innovation and scientific research, empower university students to transform their ideas into applied projects to serve society, promote sustainable development, and solidify the position of Iraqi universities in the fields of modern technologies and artificial intelligence.
