The University of Technology reviewed ways to develop the application of the Bologna Process in its academic programs during a specialized workshop.

The workshop addressed the current implementation of the Process requirements in the university's colleges, reviewed the level of achievement and the challenges associated with its application, and discussed procedures to develop academic programs in line with the adopted European standards in Higher Education.

For her part, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan affirmed that the university is proceeding with the implementation of the Bologna Process in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aim to modernize the academic environment, develop study programs, and improve learning outcomes to align with the requirements of quality and academic accreditation and enhances opportunities for international recognition of academic qualifications.

The workshop program included a presentation by Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance, Dr. Zainab Nasser Jamil addressing the mechanisms for implementing the Bologna Process in the university's colleges and academic departments, as well as the procedures adopted for monitoring implementation, documentation, and quality assurance indicators.

For his part, the International expert Prof. Dr. Burak Arikan reviewed the most prominent international practices in implementing the Bologna Process, offering a number of insights and proposals for developing implementation mechanisms in Iraqi universities and commended the University of Technology on the progress it has made in fulfilling the requirements of the process according to the approved standards.

It is significant to mention that the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, met with the international expert ane demonstrated discussed the current status of the Bologna Process implementation and prospects for its development, emphasizing the importance of continuing to update academic programs to align with the requirements of the European higher education system and enhance the efficiency of university graduates.

It is worth mentioning that the workshop was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and the international expert in Higher Education Policy Development and the Bologna Process, Prof. Dr. Burak Arikan, as well as members of the Central Ministerial Committee for the Bologna Process.
