Jaber Ibn Hayyan University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences hosted Dr. Ali Akbari Sari, Dean of the College of Public Health at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, they delivered a lecture on health economics.

The two sides highlighted that the lecture demonstrated several scientific topics, including health economics, the role of health observatories at the national and local levels, evidence-based health policies in primary healthcare, and mechanisms for utilizing health data and indicators in health policy development and decision-making.

The two sides reviewed that the lecture was followed by scientific discussions that addressed the importance of optimizing the use of available resources and enhancing the efficiency of health spending to improve the quality of health services and achieve sustainability in health systems. 

The lecture also reviewed several leading international experiences and their potential application to the priorities of the health sector in Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that the lecturer aimed at enhancing international academic cooperation, broaden scientific partnerships with reputable universities and academic institutions, and attract scientific expertise to support the development of the educational and research environment and keep pace with the latest global practices in the health sector.

It is significant to mention that the lecture was attended by a number of faculty members and researchers.
