During the championship’s opening ceremony, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship, with the participation of Iraqi public and private universities.

The Deputy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd emphasized that the modern teaching and learning environment relies on advanced tools and software that contribute to knowledge production. 

Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd said that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has established ten colleges specializing in artificial intelligence, in addition to various academic programs and research centers. 

The Deputy added that adopting these approaches in education and scientific research represents a strategic investment that supports development and strengthens the knowledge economy.

It is significant to mention that the opening ceremony included delivering speeches by Dr. Bradley J. Cook, President of the American University in Baghdad, and Mr. Ziad Shaaban, CEO of the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Development, as well as several presentations in the fields of creative leadership.

It is worth to be mentioning that the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship is based on specialized competitive tracks covering the mechanical, electronic, software, and engineering aspects of modern robots, applications to the championship platform will be accepted for thirty days.
