ARD: On Toxic Effects & Tigris River’s Fishes

Agricultural Research Directorate, Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a research on the toxic effects of copper and zinc in fishes in Tigris River.

The study included conducting a survey of parasitic infections in floating fish farming and studying of environmental pollutants in the Tigris River due to the increasing of population, factory waste, agricultural pollutants and the heavy metals that contribute increasing toxicity in water.

The research reviewed various parasitic infections due to the high density of fish culture and the rapid transmission of parasitic pathogens in fish farming which negatively effects on production.
