Center of Continues Education, University of Basra for Oil and Gas organized a workshop on the occupational safety in the oil institution.
The workshop, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, aimed at identifying the principles of occupational safety in oil institutions, methods of protecting workers in factories and work establishments from laboratory accidents, training of safety staffs to deal with fires and accidents and providing them with first aid.
The workshop reviewed the most important preventive procedures in the work environment, how to maintain the physical component in the oil installations and enhance safety features in the work sites and laboratories.
The workshop mentioned the physical, mechanical, chemical and engineering hazards that may workers face in oil and experimental fields and the methods of dealing with flammable petroleum materials.
