University of Al-Qadisiyah held a symposium on tetanus disease.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, aimed at identifying tetanus as a serious disease caused by infection with germs that carry in spores, which begin to grow in the wound.
The symposium reviewed the most important symptoms of tetanus or the so-called forced smile of sardonic, which is a smile which caused by the shrinking of the facial muscles of patient and then extending the shrinking to the muscles of the back ,belly , pelvis and thigh.
The symposium recommended increasing awareness of the health risks and ways of transmission of the disease via awareness campaigns and scientific symposiums.
