College of Information Engineering, University of Al- Nahrain discussed a Ph.D. thesis on the smart cities platform based on the Internet of Special Things and Geographic Information Systems by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Nour Sabih Hussein.
The thesis aimed at creating a smart city platform based on the Internet of Spatial Things.
The thesis confirmed that two applications were taken into consideration: a reliable video surveillance system that uses blockchain technology to store data streaming from cameras placed above the city by different owners and a smart parking system that uses Q-learning to balance the workload of the platform was evaluated via using several criteria.
