College of Engineering, University of Al-Qadisiyah discussed a master dissertation on the hydrothermal liquefaction of municipal solid waste by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Nour Kifah Hassan.
The dissertation reviewed evaluating of the hydrothermal liquefaction process (HTL) as a promising alternative for treating animal by-products and the best productivity of Biocrude produced during the hydrothermal liquefaction process.
The dissertation demonstrated that the use of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) contributes to identify the chemical components contained in vital crude oil products.
The dissertation concluded that the effect of operating factors such as temperature, residence time and catalyst concentration of the raw material on the hydrothermal liquefaction process contribute to improve the process parameters, temperature, residence time and catalyst percentage.
