A master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Basic Education, University of Babylon on forming a training program to develop geographic information systems (GIS) skills for students of the geography department in the Colleges of Basic Education by postgraduate student, Mrs. Haneen Thamer Muhammad Yas. The dissertation adopted a questionnaire to form a training program to develop geographic information systems skills for students of the geography department in the Colleges of Basic Education and identify eight skills; the skill of understanding geographic information systems , marketing skills , project management skill , analytical thinking skill, decision-making skill , mapping skill using information systems Geography (GIS), the skill of synchronizing continuous updates and the skill of linking with other institutions. The dissertation concluded that there are statistical differences between the mean scores of students in (pre-test) and the average scores of students in (post-test).
