During a meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Adnan Dirjal, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed the importance of developing partnership and supporting development in the field of the university sports. His Excellency said that the two sides agreed to formulate a strategy that defines the tasks of the next period in terms of joint work between Higher Education’s institutions and sports institutions in Iraq in light of overcoming logistical requirements and formulating programs responsible for embracing youth energies and activating them according to the foundations of scientific, mathematical and cultural awareness. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib expressed the Ministry's readiness on intensifying and increasing the necessary support to admit sport champions in the Universities and to grant them the privileges due to their representation of Iraq in international sporting forums. For his part, Mr. Darjal appreciated the role of the educational institutions in this field. Mr. Darjal reviewed the importance of the partnership of these important sectors which responsible of human development, adopting youth programs and enabling and stimulating the youth energies in the fields of education and sports.
