College of Science, University of Misan discussed master dissertation on pulmonary tuberculosis bacteria and their relation to immunity by the faculty member, Mr. Sameh Riyad Faisal.
The dissertation included isolating and diagnosing the bacteria that cause pulmonary tuberculosis after taking sputum samples from infected people, conducting medical examinations on them and determining the age groups that are most susceptible to them.
The dissertation aimed at diagnosing tuberculosis bacteria, which are transmitted through respiratory droplets from infected people via using real-time PCR technology.
The dissertation highlighted that there is a relation between the virulence factors that help tuberculosis bacteria infect with interleukins 6, 4, 10, and 12 for people under the treatment protocol for tuberculosis, for people who have resistance to treatment and those who have a response.
