College of Engineering, University of Kirkuk discussed a master
dissertation on the performance of thin active powder concrete columns under
the influence of uniaxial torque and high temperatures by the postgraduate student,
Mr. Wael Rami Rafael.
The dissertation demonstrated a study of the behavior of concrete
columns made of thin active powders subjected to eccentric compressive force,
causing a torque in one direction, and at the same time exposed to temperatures
simulating the temperatures measured during the occurrence of real fires.
The dissertation concluded that the lateral deformation of columns
(buckling) increases more with high loads, considering that the eccentricity
value is low compared to the models in which the eccentricity values were high
but with a lower applied load.
