College of Engineering, University of Kufa discussed a master dissertation on enhancing automatic control of a voltage regulator by means of educational sliding mode control by the postgraduate student, Mr. Ali Ahmed Mahal.

The dissertation aimed at designing a powerful control method for an automatic voltage regulator and revolves around designing a Learning Sliding Mode Control (LSMC) to maintain voltage stability in the electrical network of the proposed method has been compared with several control methods.

The dissertation reviewed that using the proposed controller with the (AVR) system shows stability and accuracy in response and it can be concluded that (LSMC) has strong performance against (Uncertainties, External Disturbance), as well as eliminating the problem of Chattering, in addition to improve the response of the AVR system compared to (CSMC) and traditional controllers.

The dissertation demonstrated that hexane extracts of some microalgae contain many active compounds responsible for antimicrobial activity, and they also have a strong effect on biofilms and fungi and that the fatty acids of microalgae have clear anti-cancer activity.

The dissertation concluded that it is possible to benefit from microalgae and employ it in the process of producing alternative treatments, especially with the global increase in resistance to antibiotics.
