During Minister’s first day, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani chaired a master’s thesis defense committee at the College of Pharmacy, Al-Nahrain University, this gesture reflects his commitment to preserve an active academic and scientific presence alongside his Ministerial responsibilities in overseeing the Higher Education and Scientific Research sector.

The thesis, in which was presented by the postgraduate student, Ms. Shahad Sadiq Jaafar, entitled "Development and Evaluation of a Nanoliposomal Gel Loaded with Clobetasol Propionate and Integrated with Plant-Derived Needle-like Microstructures for the Topical Treatment of Psoriasis" , aiming at developing an innovative topical drug delivery system based on nanoliposomes loaded with Clobetasol Propionate and embedding in a hydrogel incorporating needle-like microstructures derived from the stinging nettle plant to enhance drug permeability and improve therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of psoriasis.

Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani emphasized the importance of applied pharmaceutical research in advancing drug delivery systems and utilizing modern technologies to create therapeutic formulations, such efforts contribute to elevate research outputs and strengthen the role of universities in serving scientific and medical fields.

The study falls within the scope of pharmaceutical research aimed at developing innovative drug delivery systems and improving the efficiency of topical preparations, as well as opening new research avenues for leveraging modern technologies and botanical sources in the development of therapeutic applications.
