College of Arts, University of Kufa held a symposium on the reality of beekeeping in Iraq and sustainable development potentials.
The symposium, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included reviewing the environmental reality of beekeeping in Iraq, addressing important issues that face this sector, developing beekeeping in Iraq, and the natural and human issues which affect the production of bees in Iraq.
The symposium recommended providing beekeepers with appropriate equipment with modern scientific specifications, delivering awareness campaign to educate farmers on the importance of bees to the crops, expanding the green areas, especially trees with nectar and preventing the indiscriminate cutting of trees.
