A faculty member in the College of Oil and Gas Engineering, Basra University of Oil and Gas published a book in Willie Global Publishing House on multi-goals improvement in chemical engineering.

The book, in which included 17 chapters, reviewed the important developments and applications, including multivariate optimization in modeling, designing and operating of chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, energy and related industries as well as reviewing the important theoretical and calculative developments, specific applications such as network interactions, chromatography, the amount of emitted CO2 from petroleum refining units, designing environment of the chemical processes, the purification of ethanol and the process of cumene.

The book also reviewed controlling and measuring of the emitted CO2 from oil refinery plants, crude oil distillation unit, thermal cracking unit, reviewing optimization principles and applications as well as studying direct thermal integration between different industrial units and the process of thermal integration of the refinery in general and the role resulting in reducing energy consumption and applying of multi-variable optimization principles to selected industrial units of oil refineries.
