During a meeting with the delegation of U.S. Embassy to Baghdad represented by Cultural and Educational Affairs Attaché, Mrs. Christian Carroll and Public Affairs Attaché, Mr. John Concanon, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa reviewed completing the mechanisms and steps of the establishment process of the American University in Baghdad.

Dr. Al-Esa said that Iraq is keen on consolidating and developing the academic relations with American universities via reviewing the nature of the American curriculum that will be studied to meet the actual needs of the labor market in Iraq.

His Excellency added that the two sides reviewed developing the mutual academic cooperation to develop the Iraqi university institutions and promote their performance in light of the international experiences.

For their part, the delegation expressed their keenness on developing the academic cooperation with Iraq via accelerating the process of establishing the American University in Baghdad.
