The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a training program to prepare trainers for the Smart Learning Management System (IQ-Learn TOT) in Iraqi universities.

Higher Education reviewed that the initiative is part of the comprehensive digital transformation project adopted by the Ministry to develop educational infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of the teaching process in Higher Education institutions.

The Ministry highlighted that the program was implemented under the auspices of His Excellency the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Moussawi, and under the supervision of the Deputy of the Ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd, in cooperation with the Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, as well as the training was provided by the Ministry's Strategic Expert Committee for the Smart Learning Management System.

Higher Education demonstrated that the program aims at qualifying national training personnel capable of utilizing digital educational tools within a unified learning management platform and improving the quality of education by adopting a blended learning model that combines traditional and e-learning, positively impacting learning outcomes in Iraqi universities.

The Ministry also reviewed that the program included four in-person training courses, benefiting 501 trainees, in the central region, two courses were held: the first at Al-Mashreq University from April 5-8, 2026, with 156 participants, and the second at Al-Bayan University from June 20-23, 2026, with 124 participants. In the southern region, Al-Maqal University hosted the training course from May 3-6, 2026, with 100 participants, while Al-Hadbaa University in the northern region hosted the course from June 7-10, 2026, with 121 participants.

Higher Education also highlighted that the training program covered advanced topics in managing online courses and effective instructional design, in addition to best practices in building digital content. It also included practical training on using the IQ-Learn platform tools to achieve interactive learning and design and manage online tests and assignments, ensuring the creation of an integrated digital learning environment based on global best practices in university education.

It is significant to mention that the Ministry is currently preparing to launch the fifth training course, specifically for universities in the Middle Euphrates region.

It is worth mentioning that this step falls within the strategic direction of the Ministry of Higher Education, which aims to build a national network of qualified trainers to support digital transformation initiatives in Iraqi universities and ensure the sustainable implementation of the smart learning management system in line with the requirements of contemporary academic development.
