A joint research team in the Universities of Babylon and Technology obtained a patent on preparing new hybrid Nano-materials to repair and fixing internal bone fractures.
The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, included developing and manufacturing biological systems hybrid Nano-molecular polymers compound, consists of polyetheretherketone 7.5 and polyvinyldehyde fluoride (PVDF) and reinforced with Nano-crystalline powders, Nano-hydroxyapatite hydroxyapatite.
The patent reviewed that the improved materials from hybrid Nano-particles with different weight ratios for both hydroxide and Nano-tube to develop the biological materials.
The patent also reviewed that the superimposed polymerase material (PEEK: 7.5% PVDF) (7.5% ZrO2 + 3% Y2O3) was given higher mechanical characteristics.
