His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani met with the Head of the Health and Education Authority at the Warith International Foundation for Oncology, Dr. Haider Hamza Al-Abidi.

Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani highlighted prospects for joint cooperation in advancing scientific research and medical applications for cancer diagnosis and treatment, while leveraging recent developments in the field of genetic mapping.

His Excellency demonstrated advancements in oncology treatment methods, the capabilities of the Foundation’s specialized genetic mapping laboratory, and its role in supporting precise diagnosis and directing research toward more effective therapeutic applications, as well as the meeting addressed fostering collaboration among universities, medical centers, and cancer research institutions, as well as examining the potential for incorporating natural-based treatments within established scientific and research frameworks.

Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani emphasized that cancer research is a priority for the Ministry, aligning with its broader commitment to supporting scientific inquiry and enhancing its role in addressing health challenges.

His Excellency emphasized the importance of bringing this matter before the Ministry’s Advisory Council specifically in relation to the Helsinki Declaration (Resolution 45) to pave the way for necessary decisions that will bolster research collaboration and refine institutional operational mechanisms in this field.

For his part, Head of the Health and Education Authority at the Warith International Foundation for Oncology, Dr. Haider Hamza Al-Abidi underscored the significance of strengthening partnerships with universities, medical facilities, and research centers.

Dr. Haider Hamza Al-Abidi stressed the need to intensify efforts to advance cancer research and translate its findings into practical applications that contribute to improve standards of diagnosis and treatment.
