A research team in the College of Agriculture, University of Basra obtained a patent on producing sponge boards and their applications in carp fish ponds.
The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, aimed at recycling waste to manufacture sponge boards and cultivate fish in sand and high-yielding soil.
The patent reviewed using of panels will reduce wasting water, leaking of sewage water to the aquariums and preventing the growth of the bush inside, as well as the boards are easy to be manufactured, transported and installed and molded.
