College of Media, Al-Iraqia University held an online workshop on the media between freedom and responsibility. The online workshop aimed at enhancing the legal culture and raising the capabilities and skills of media professionals in order to promote media offering by the faculty member,Dr. Najat Jabbar Kadhim. The online workshop reviewed the concepts of freedom, social responsibility, ethical standards for media work, providing advice on how to manage crises through social media, the importance of listening and learning from those means, how to interact with the community and building trust with the public. The online workshop recommended the need to emphasize the importance of the public’s role in developing media work in light of the technical development that we are witnessing in this digital era via setting standards and laws that regulate the use of social media for the public interest.
