During a closed online meeting with the representatives of UNESCO to Baghdad, Beirut, China and the International Institute for Higher Education and Chinese Innovation morning headed by the President of the University of Information Technology and Communication, Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, a number of general directors and specialists from the Ministerial team for e-learning, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib appreciated the efforts of UNESCO at its headquarters and regional office in Beirut, the UNESCO office in Baghdad, the International Institute for Higher Education and Innovation in China to support integrated education in Iraq. His Excellency valued the strenuous efforts of the UN organization to conclude a partnership with Iraq and support the educational environment by establishing a national center for smart education at the University of Information and Communication Technology in Baghdad. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib reviewed that the meeting demonstrated the ways of cooperation and the mechanisms of understanding that enhance communication in the field of higher education and information technology and employ them to serve the partnership at the level of global education and move to executive steps to establish the National Center for Smart Learning in Iraq and accelerate steps related to technical operational details. His Excellency said that the meeting agreed to form a technical team from the Ministry and the university to follow up the implementation of the program, while the meeting offered the benefit of the Institute for Internet Training and Development IIOE to be freely available to all teachers in Iraq.
