STU’s Master's Dissertation: On Sustainable Accounting & Electricity Production Renewable Energy Measuring Costs A master's dissertation was discussed in the Southern Technical University on the possibility of sustainable accounting in measuring renewable energy costs for electric energy production by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Marwa Jabbar. The dissertation reviewed the role of sustainability accounting by measuring the costs of renewable energy for the production of electric energy and comparing it with traditional production costs. The dissertation aimed at measuring what contributes to reduce the current electricity crisis in Iraq and find solutions that are consistent with the dimensions of sustainable development. The dissertation reviewed that generating electricity using solar energy is the least expensive compared to traditional energy and also contributes to promote and support sustainable development represented by its economic, environmental and social dimensions.
