A Ph.D. thesis was discussed in the College of Fine Arts, University of Babylon on the effectiveness of technology and imagination in producing contemporary video art by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Sawsan Hashem Ghadban. The thesis reviewed the concept of imagination intellectually, the concept of technology, revealing the interaction between technology and imagination and their role in the mechanisms of operation to produce video images. The thesis highlighted the imagination, its conceptual dimensions, the functionalities, the technical and the conceptual dimensions of the image. The thesis concluded that the contemporary video artist was able to employ imagination and explode the creative energy and the ability to synthesize objects, objects, colors and sensations to produce images.
