During a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Baghdad, Mr. Birinder Singh Yadav, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed the file of mutual fellowships and scholarships. His Excellency highlighted the Iraqi universities’ readiness on cooperating, coordinating and developing scientific and cultural relations with Indian universities. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib proposed forming of a joint working group between the two countries on the mechanisms of mutual fellowships and scholarships programs. His Excellency called on enhancing scientific communication contexts via research and study grants, facilitating their procedures and joint scientific publication in the international journals, exchanging of professors, joint supervision in various specializations and cooperating in the fields of human medicine in particular, as well as biomedicine engineering, mechatronic engineering, information and communication engineering and rare specialties. For his part, Mr. Yadav welcomed the sharing visions between the two sides and stressed on that Iraq and India are rich in distinguished relations in many fields, especially economic and cultural fields. Mr. Yadav expressed his high appreciation for the presence of Iraqi students in Indian university institutions. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazem Baqir Tahir.
