Dr. Al-Esa, Armenia in Academic Cooperation

During a visit to the Republic of Armenia, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa reviewed with the official members of the Departments of Development, Education and Sciences obtaining the membership in the Bologna Process System and activating academic twining programs between Iraqi universities and their Armenian counterparts.

Dr. Al-Esa said that Iraq is keen on developing academic relations with the advanced countries in the fields of the scientific research and enhancing the academic cooperation horizons with the Arminian universities via inking mutual memorandums of understanding, activating twining programs and exchanging academic experiences, especially in the rare specialties.

His Excellency added that the Ministry is keen on sending Iraqi faculty members to obtain training in the Bologna Process System in order to meet the memberships’ requirements.

Dr. Al-Esa also reviewed that the Ministry will send Iraqi scholars to develop their academic levels of studying of some of the rare and medical specialties and benefit from them in Iraq.

His Excellency referred to the importance of supporting applied research, enhancing openness between Iraqi and Armenian research institutions and the possibility of benefiting from Armenian expertise in developing the academic level of the Iraqi university graduates to meet the needs of the labor market.

During a tour to the Yerevan State University, Dr. Al-Esa reviewed the educational and teaching programs of the universities in both university and postgraduate studies.

His Excellency also reviewed the submitted offer of the university on the cooperation possibilities with the Iraqi universities in the fields of sending scholarship and exchanging experiences among faculty members.
