Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that the Iraqi universities and colleges achieved an increasing in the publications in Scopus during a whole year by 30%, as well as the number of published researches reached to seventy thousand two hundred and twenty-five researches. Higher Education added that the achievement was formulated by the public universities that contributed with sixty-seven thousand two hundred and sixty-eight scientific researches and the private universities and colleges that contributed with two thousand nine hundred fifty-seven scientific researches. Higher Education highlighted that while we acknowledge our public and private educational institutions for this qualitative achievement, the Ministry is keen on proceeding and working continuously according to a deliberate program and calculated timings to advance scientific research in terms of quantity and quality, developing quality indicators and meeting the requirements for competition in international rankings.
