College of Agriculture, University of Misan organized a symposium on plant quarantine and its laws. The symposium reviewed plant quarantine, its laws and the history of applying plant quarantine in the world. The symposium demonstrated the first important legislation across different times, the most important founding agreements for this international system and its importance in preserving local wealth and protecting the environment. The symposium recommended the emphasis on the need for specialists in the agricultural side to be informed of the issue of plant quarantine and to urge the relevant authorities to train the cadres working at border outlets to limit the entry of invasive pests into the country. It is worth mentioning that the symposium was delivered by Dr. Ali Hassan Harfash.
