A master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Postgraduate Studies, Southern Technical University on simulating and implementing of automatic optimization for power factor correction by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Manar Abded Al-Hussein Khudair. The dissertation aimed at improving the power factor of different loads via proposing the design of a common and accurate model for automatic power factor correction (APFC). The dissertation reviewed single-phase inductive loads and analysis via using different strategies techniques for SEPIC-PFC with linear and nonlinear control to reduce harmonic distortion of input current and improve power factor (PF) on the AC side and regulate the output voltage on the DC side.
