Thi- Qar University’s Master's Dissertation: On Body Mass & Ball Collision Moment

A master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Thi-Qar on the two dimensions of the vertical and horizontal distance of the body mass center at the moment of collision with the ball and its relation to the values of some biomechanical variables for the skill of receiving the volleyball transmission by the postgraduate student, Mr. Karrar Haider Taher. The dissertation addressed studying of the vertical distance of body mass and its effect on the biomechanical variables of volleyball reception skills. The dissertation highlighted that there is a clear weakness in the players’ estimation of the vertical and horizontal distance to the center of the body mass and exit in a movement direction that is not commensurate with the point of collision with the ball, which affects the position of the body at that moment, which requires a stable position and balance of movement. The dissertation concluded that there are differences in the values of the vertical and horizontal distance of the body mass center at the moment of the collision with the ball between the crushing transmitter and the wave transmitter reception resulting from the differences in the values of the angles of the joints of the body (ankle, knee and hip).
